My name is Ms. Boley and I am the Office Manager at Jefferson Elementary. This is my first year with DMPS and I am so grateful to be a part of the Jefferson family. I truly enjoy seeing the student’s smiling faces throughout the day! I have two girls of my own, a middle schooler at Carlisle and a one year old who keeps me on my toes. In my spare time, you will find me looking for adventures to do with my girls, reading a book or watching old movies.
I look forward to great year with you and your family. Please reach out with any questions!

I’m the school nurse! I have been here since 2014 and am so honored to be a Jefferson Jet. I obtained my BSN from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. I am currently working on my Master’s in Nursing through Pittsburg State. Before working in the schools, I was a labor and delivery nurse. I am originally from the Kansas City area and absolutely love cheering on the KC Royals and Chiefs! In my spare time, you will find me traveling with my family to anywhere and everywhere and watching my two teenage boys play baseball or basketball. I love to be outside and particularly enjoy a reading good book. I look forward to caring for your kids!
Hello Jefferson Jets! I am Stacy Satterstrom and this is my 5th year in Des Moines working as a Speech-Language Pathologist with DMPS. I currently work with children 3-years old through 8th grade at schools on the Southside of Des Moines. Prior to moving to Des Moines, I was a school based SLP in the Chicago area for 10 years. I am a graduate of Marquette University (B.S. – speech pathology and audiology ’05) and Southern Illinois University (M.S. speech-language pathology ’07).
While away from school, I spend my time with my husband and our 3 young daughters, who keep us pretty busy! We enjoy riding our bikes on the DM trails, attending concerts and sports events, traveling, and spending time with our families and friends.
Hello! My name is Michelle Volquardsen and I am the Advanced Learning Program Consultant. I have been working in Des Moines Public Schools for 8 years. I taught 6th and 8th grade science at Hoyt Middle School for 6 years. During that time, I earned my masters from Drake University in Culturally Responsive Leadership. I also worked toward my endorsement in Gifted & Talented at Drake. That endorsement allowed me to pursue my current position in the Advanced Learning Program. Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family, go on walks, and learn new things. I have two toddler girls that keep my husband and I very busy!
